Kokoon is continually working on the accuracy and reliability of our algorithms, to improve our features and sleep data. All of our EEG features will be improving over time, as we gather and analyse more data, to feed into our algorithms.
If you use an Android device, you may find your sleep tracking stops during the night, even though you have used the headphones all night. You may also find your sleep history has been broken up into multiple records, even though you were using them continuously.
Unfortunately, some mobile phone manufacturers have set their device OS to stop background tasks after a certain period, to improve battery life. This will affect the Kokoon Relax app.
What can I do?
If this is an issue affecting your Kokoon Relax use, please edit the following settings in your phone:
- On Android 8 there are battery optimization settings for all apps. Go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > App list. Here a user can find the Kokoon app and turn the setting to “Don’t Optimise”. Note this setting will reset after every install of the app so once an app is updated a user would have to change this again if needed. The location of battery optimisation settings may be different, depending on your device.
- On Android 9 there is a feature called adaptive battery which limits battery for apps that might be in the background. This can be turned off and may help.
Depending on the make and model of your phone, there may be additional settings, there may be additional steps which can be taken to resolve the issue. Please contact us at support@kokoon.io with your phone's make, model and OS to enable us to help you further.
