An EEG, or electroencephalogram, is a standard medical test used to record brain activity by monitoring the electrical impulses created by your brain activity. This is typically done by attaching sensors to several points across the scalp, to produce a record of your brain waves.
Using the gold plated sensors inside each of the Kokoon Relax headphones, Kokoon is able to record these signals and track your brain wave patterns. This information is then fed back to our app and is used to power features such as our automatic audio fade out when you fall asleep, and to report back on your sleep in the morning.
The sensors used are safe for long term use and require no preparation or special skills. EEG has been in widespread use since 1924 and is used in sleep clinics and hospitals worldwide.
Kokoon headphones must always be used in accordance with the safety instructions included with the product.
